The festival of electronic music and culture, Moga Festival returns to Essaouira for a new edition on October 12, 13 and 14, 2018.
Moga Festival will take place in the picturesque Essaouira, city of Astapor called the “Red City”, location of the famous Game of Thrones series. Fans of good music will be invited for an unprecedented trip to old Mogador for three days. A good time with various electronic cultures, punctuated by intense moments of music, exchanges and communion.
City of culture and miscegenation, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the legendary Essaouira captivates travelers and inspires artists. With an inspiring and rich past, this ancient Portuguese city became pacifist “hippie” in the 60s and delivers a haunting atmosphere. With its architectural and civilizational features, the city of Alizés resonates beyond its borders. Moga Festival is inspired by this legacy of influences to create a link between tradition and electronic cultures.
In 2016, Moga Festival brought together over 5,000 festival-goers around outstanding concerts of international artists such as Ron Morelli, DJ Tennis, Terekke, YokoO, Mind Against, Magda, Lee Burridge, or SIS. We still remember the djs Amê and dOP who, in collaboration with Maâlem Hassan Boussou, had offered an unprecedented performance for an exclusive concert, both hypnotic and surprising!
For its 2018 edition, Moga Festival will take place in several cultural, historical, and essential places of Essaouira by presenting about forty artists from the international and Moroccan scenes for afternoons and evenings concerts. The Sofitel Mogador Essaouira will be the central venue of the festival. On the sidelines of the official program, hot spots and X-tras will be offered throughout the city of Essaouira. MOGA Festival promises locals, tourists and festivalgoers a unique experience!
